Welcome To Courtyard Garden.

The Hofgarten is a baroque, beautiful park that is one of Munich's most popular tourist attractions. Located directly on the Odeonsplatz square, the Hofgarten invites you to relax in style. In the center of the Hofgarten is a pavilion from 1615 where concerts take place. Four internal fountains decorated with shells give a unique impression. The unique atmosphere of this place is conducive for meetings and walks.

There is the Hofgarten Gate, the first building designed by Munich architect Leo von Klein in 1916, as well as the German Theater Museum, built in 1780/1781. On the eastern side of the park is the Bavarian State Chancellery, whose main building is the domed remains of the Bavarian Museum.

In the past, the Hofgarten was the garden of the mansion Residenz. The palace complex was founded in 1617 at the initiative of Prince Maximilian I as a Renaissance garden in the Italianate style. The palace and garden belonged to the Wittelsbachs, who ruled the kingdom from 1180 to 1918. In the arcades, which surround the courtyard on two sides, unique wall paintings recount the history of the Wittelsbach family.
